In which areas do you expect PostgreSQL to grow most and how does your company contribute to and benefit from that growth?

PostgreSQL continues to grow as a leading open-source relational database, driven by trends such as cloud adoption, containerized deployments, and the increasing need for hybrid workloads that combine relational and semi-structured data. Its strengths are in standards compliance, reliability, and extensibility, while innovations, such as built-in logical replication, parallel query execution, and improvements in JSON and partitioning support, enable more scalable and flexible solutions for modern applications. Additionally, the rise of PostgreSQL as the backbone for analytics, real-time applications, and multi-cloud strategies points to continued expansion in both enterprise and developer communities. credativ GmbH actively contributes to this growth by supporting PostgreSQL in critical production environments, developing and contributing to extensions, and guiding organizations through migrations from proprietary database environments to open-source solutions. Our team, including longstanding contributors like Michael Banck, continues to provide expertise in performance tuning, high-availability architectures, and cloud-native deployments, helping clients to benefit from PostgreSQL’s evolving capabilities while strengthening the open-source ecosystem overall.

What makes you want to attend the PGConf.DE conference?

We have been participating in PGConf.DE for many years, as it is an excellent forum to engage with the PostgreSQL community and connect with current and prospective customers. Our senior expert Josef Machytka participates every year, willing to share his expertise and holding talks to spread awareness of PostgreSQL and our services. He presents talks on migration strategies, a critical puzzle for many companies switching to PostgreSQL. At credativ, we also plan out-of-the-box transitions to other open-source technologies, such as switching hypervisors to Proxmox VE, a crucial step for ensuring an independent and future-proof IT landscape. PGConf.DE gives us the perfect platform to share these real-world strategies, demonstrate the value of open-source adoption, and strengthen our engagement with the community.
